What Does ‘TOG’ Mean?
What is a TOG Rating? TOG stands for ‘Thermal Overall Grade’ and is the unit of measurement used to determine the thermal insulation of a duvet (and other products). Basically, how hot it keeps you. If you’re asking yourself, “What is a TOG Rating?”, we can help! A common misunderstanding is that the tog rating is an indicator of the weight or quality of a duvet. This is the not true. A duvet keeps you warm at night by trapping your body heat under the duvet with you. The TOG rating describes the “thermal resistance” of your duvet, that is, the amount of heat it can trap with you in bed. Read ‘What is a TOG Rating?’ in the KerryLinen.ie Bedding Blog!
